The Unity vacant lot needs a repair café workshop - Femi's neighborhood project

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $350. It will serve about 400 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $350 goes: • Materials: $210 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $55 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
