The Unity vacant lot needs a playground - Lillian's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at the Unity vacant lot that will serve 586 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,650.
It will serve about 586 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,650 goes:
• Materials: $1,750
• Permits and inspections: $250
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Tools hire and delivery: $410
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Lillian!
Sure. The biggest one is materials, $1,750. The rest is in the list at the bottom of the post and I'll upload receipts as I pay each one. I'll keep the page updated.
hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. Love from Ann Arbor.

Take care. Hope this works out for you. Thinking of Liverpool.
Sending good thoughts. More neighborhoods should do this. Our whole street has been following this since the weekend. Greetings from Zapopan.
You're not alone. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Alicante
