The Unity vacant lot needs a free library and reading room - Sohel's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Nizamabad are raising $150 for a free library and reading room at the Unity vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 10 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $220, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 456 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $25
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
