The Unity health centre yard needs a repair café workshop - Weston's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a repair café workshop - we need $2,500 for materials.
🇺🇸 Fresno, California, United States1,422 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $2,500.
It will serve about 149 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,500 goes:
• Materials: $2,150
• Safety equipment and signage: $240
• Permits and inspections: $110
Every share and every dollar helps.
