The Unity health centre yard needs a playground - Ebuka's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at the Unity health centre yard that will serve 535 neighbors.
🇳🇬 Port Harcourt, Rivers, Nigeria1,354 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $150.
It will serve about 535 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $150 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
• Safety equipment and signage: $30
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
