For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,200. It will serve about 170 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $3,200 goes: • Materials: $2,150 • Permits and inspections: $310 • Safety equipment and signage: $290 • Tools hire and delivery: $450 Every share and every dollar helps.

Updates from Daniel

  1. Thank you all. We're at 10% now ($316). I'm honestly stunned. I met with the suppliers and confirmed the amounts.

  2. We're at 7% thanks to 2 of you. I made the first payment toward tools hire and delivery. More news soon.
