The Unity community hall needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Gerardo's neighborhood project
A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the Unity community hall that will serve 187 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Unity community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $230, and the remaining cost is $1,200.
It will serve about 187 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Safety equipment and signage: $145
• Permits and inspections: $65
