We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a solar-powered water pump - we need $1,200 for materials.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $1,200. It will serve about 444 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $1,200 goes: • Tools hire and delivery: $120 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Materials: $1,050 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Sending strength, Mauricio. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My husband and I read this together.
