For three years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Union health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $100. It will serve about 189 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $100 goes: • Permits and inspections: $35 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 Thanks for reading all this. - Kemi
