The Thursday Table: keep the shelves full this school holidays
The the Thursday Table pantry in Miami is running low just as demand rises; $2,050 will stock it for 8 weeks.

Since 2022, our volunteer team has run the Thursday Table every Wednesday from the back of the parish hall. We started with 23 families, and now we feed 110 each week.
Donations have dropped by about 32% this school holidays, while the line has grown every single week.
We rely on volunteers - 20 of us - and keep no salaries or overhead. I buy staples at wholesale prices at the Miami market and keep every receipt.
Each $35 feeds a family of four for a week.
I'll post the weekly shopping receipts and a photo of the shelves each Sunday.
Where the $2,050 goes:
• Baby formula and diapers: $460
• Rice, beans, flour and oil (wholesale): $870
• Fresh vegetables and fruit: $720
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Sending good thoughts. Shared it with a few friends. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Take care
Projects like this are what make a place worth living in. I'll check back for the next update. Thinking of Miami.
Take care. Hope you get there. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double!
