The Sycamore community hall needs a free library and reading room - Segun's neighborhood project

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $65, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 385 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Permits and inspections: $50 • Tools hire and delivery: $25 • Materials: $175 Thanks for being kind about this.
