The Sycamore community hall needs a community garden - Ochieng's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Zanzibar City are raising $300 for a community garden at the Sycamore community hall.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Sycamore community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 501 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.

• Permits and inspections: $10
