The Petrenko family fled Afghanistan - help them rebuild in Narayanganj
After fleeing Afghanistan, the Petrenko family has arrived in Narayanganj with little more than their documents. They need help with a deposit, furniture and the first months.

My family left Afghanistan 7 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Narayanganj. We're a family of four and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 4 months of rent, and that support ends in June.
I was a nurse in Afghanistan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $300 goes:
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $65
• Rent deposit and first month: $130
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $30
• Language classes and bus passes: $75
With deep gratitude,
Tahmina

is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Tahmina!
Winter clothing and school supplies is $65 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Let me know if you want more detail.
Praying for you, Tahmina. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier
Rooting for you, Tahmina. Gave what I could, wish it was more. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. God bless.
thinking of you and your family. It takes guts to ask. Well done. Sent it to 36 people at work. Take care.
Looking forward to the next update. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Fresno
You're not alone. Looking forward to the next update. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care.
Good luck, Tahmina. It takes guts to ask. Well done.
Keep going. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. God bless
