The old Unity bus depot needs a covered market stall space - Bohdan's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Saint Petersburg are raising $600 for a covered market stall space at the old Unity bus depot.
Anywhere in the world453 views
For three years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 19 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $400, and the remaining cost is $600.
It will serve about 532 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $600 goes:
• Materials: $310
• Safety equipment and signage: $140
• Tools hire and delivery: $150
Glad we found this place.
