The old Unity bus depot needs a community garden - Zoe's neighborhood project

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Unity bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $1,400. It will serve about 501 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $1,400 goes: • Permits and inspections: $400 • Tools hire and delivery: $510 • Safety equipment and signage: $490 Thank you for reading my story.
