Heliopolis
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 14 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Union bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $450. It will serve about 201 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $450 goes: • Materials: $290 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $55 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 Thank you so much. - Hadi
