Rides to dialysis three times a week for Vikash in Johannesburg
Vikash needs dialysis three times a week and has lost the ability to drive; volunteer drivers can each take one day.
🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa506 views
Vikash has been on dialysis for 2 years and until recently drove to the Johannesburg Dialysis Unit alone. After a foot amputation, Vikash can no longer drive. Taxis cost more than the family can pay three times a week.
We're building a rota of volunteer drivers. Each session is 3 hours, including the trip there and back; most volunteers take one regular day. The journey is about 17 km each way.
Vikash is cheerful company. You'd need a car in good condition and a clean driving record. We'll cover your fuel costs, and the family will send you home with homemade food.
Please say which day works for you in the comments.
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.
