The old Pioneer bus depot needs a community garden - Alejandra's neighborhood project
A community-led a community garden at the old Pioneer bus depot that will serve 153 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Pioneer bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $140, and the remaining cost is $1,050.
It will serve about 153 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,050 goes:
• Materials: $700
• Permits and inspections: $100
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
• Tools hire and delivery: $190
