The old Maple bus depot needs a free library and reading room - Rose's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a free library and reading room - we need $2,300 for materials.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Maple bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,300.
It will serve about 103 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,300 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $240
• Materials: $1,600
• Safety equipment and signage: $460

Hang in there. Your post was clear and honest. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected.
