The old Lotus bus depot needs a free library and reading room - Francesco's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Rome are raising $1,450 for a free library and reading room at the old Lotus bus depot.

For three years the neighborhood has asked for a free library and reading room. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,450.
It will serve about 539 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $1,450 goes:
• Permits and inspections: $140
• Tools hire and delivery: $210
• Materials: $1,100
