For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a covered market stall space. This year a group of 15 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Lotus bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,200. It will serve about 484 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $2,200 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $410 • Materials: $1,600 • Permits and inspections: $190 Every share and every dollar helps.
