The old Jacaranda bus depot needs a skate park - Savannah's neighborhood project
A community-led a skate park at the old Jacaranda bus depot that will serve 300 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $2,900.
It will serve about 300 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,900 goes:
• Materials: $2,300
• Permits and inspections: $220
• Safety equipment and signage: $220
• Tools hire and delivery: $160
