For three years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Jacaranda bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $160, and the remaining cost is $500. It will serve about 241 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $500 goes: • Materials: $370 • Permits and inspections: $35 • Safety equipment and signage: $20 • Tools hire and delivery: $75 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly. - Fadi
