The old Harmony bus depot needs a playground - Amber's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Sydney are raising $2,350 for a playground at the old Harmony bus depot.
🇦🇺 Sydney, New South Wales, Australia453 views
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Harmony bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $410, and the remaining cost is $2,350.
It will serve about 426 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $2,350 goes:
• Materials: $1,150
• Permits and inspections: $370
• Safety equipment and signage: $410
• Tools hire and delivery: $420
Thanks for being kind about this.

Stay strong, Amber. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My neighbor in Grand Rapids donated after I showed her your page.
Take care, Amber. Hope you get there. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Love from Colombo!
