For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Freedom bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,450. It will serve about 127 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in February and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $3,450 goes: • Materials: $2,450 • Permits and inspections: $350 • Safety equipment and signage: $300 • Tools hire and delivery: $350 Thank you for reading my story. - Teresa
