The old Freedom bus depot needs a rainwater harvesting system - Zalak's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Vadodara are raising $550 for a rainwater harvesting system at the old Freedom bus depot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Freedom bus depot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $550.
It will serve about 239 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $550 goes:
• Materials: $400
• Permits and inspections: $45
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $65
Whatever you can give, even just sharing this page, means a lot.

Thinking of you and your family, Zalak. Hope this works out for you. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Rohini.
Good luck. It takes guts to ask. Well done. I went through something like this 2 years ago and strangers helped me out. Blessings.
Wishing you peace. Hope you get there. Don't be hard on yourself for asking. Take care!
Sending good thoughts, Zalak. More neighborhoods should do this. Sent it to 27 people at work. All the best
projects like this are what make a place worth living in. My neighbor in Edmonton donated after I showed her your page.
Good luck. Shared it with a few friends. Love from Riverside.
you're not alone, Zalak. Shared this with my family. Don't give up. Thinking of Vadodara.
Wishing you the best, Zalak. Hope you get there. It's not much but it's yours. All the best!
Keep going. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. I'll check back for the next update. Love from Tehuacán
