Aurora
For five years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the old Acacia bus depot, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $3,100. It will serve about 582 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in April and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $3,100 goes: • Materials: $2,050 • Permits and inspections: $115 • Safety equipment and signage: $530 • Tools hire and delivery: $405 I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support. - Brenda

  3. Quick update: $210 raised so far (7%). we've booked the dates and paid the deposit. Receipts coming as soon as I have them.
