The Okonkwo family fled Sudan - help them rebuild in Québec
Help a family of 4 start their new life in Québec: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.
🇨🇦 Québec, Quebec, CanadaPosted Oct 1, 2026150 views
My family left Sudan 10 months ago after we were targeted for our work. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Québec. We're a family of seven and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in November.
I was a pharmacist in Sudan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $3,650 goes:
• Language classes and bus passes: $380
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $780
• Beds, table and basic furniture: $1,250
• Rent deposit and first month: $1,240
You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
