The Nguyen family fled Venezuela - help them rebuild in Hamilton
Help a family of 6 start their new life in Hamilton: furniture, rent deposit and language classes.
Anywhere in the world604 views
My family left Venezuela 5 months ago after our home was destroyed. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in Hamilton. We're a family of five and we're safe, but we arrived with very little.
Our resettlement agency has provided 3 months of rent, and that support ends in November.
I was a teacher in Venezuela, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well.
We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months.
All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent).
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Language classes and bus passes: $410
• Phone and internet for school and job search: $175
• Winter clothing and school supplies: $565
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

You're not alone, Shawn. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day
Rooting for you, Shawn. Hope this works out for you. Love from Howrah.
So sorry you're going through this. Shared this with my family. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Thinking of Hamilton
