The Nguyen family fled Afghanistan - help them rebuild in San Diego

The Nguyen family are rebuilding in San Diego after leaving Afghanistan; your gift pays for housing basics.

🇺🇸 San Diego, California, United States428 views
My family left Afghanistan 8 months ago after the war reached our town. We spent time in a camp before we were resettled in San Diego. We're a family of eight and we're safe, but we arrived with very little. Our resettlement agency has provided 2 months of rent, and that support ends in March. I was a mechanic in Afghanistan, and I'm studying the language every evening. Our daughter and son have started school and are doing well. We want nothing more than to be self-sufficient. This fund will help us through the first six months. All purchases will be documented and photos shared (with the family's consent). Where the $2,350 goes: • Phone and internet for school and job search: $310 • Winter clothing and school supplies: $740 • Language classes and bus passes: $420 • Beds, table and basic furniture: $880 If you can't give, please share this page. It does reach people.
