Milon was diagnosed with a torn ligament that needs reconstruction in March. The surgeon at Dhaka Regional Medical Center recommended valve repair surgery, and He is scheduled for June. The hospital's financial office gave us a written estimate of $1,500, and after what my insurance will pay we're still $900 short. my husband has been in and out of Dhaka Regional Medical Center since March. The doctors say a torn ligament that needs reconstruction will get worse without valve repair surgery. We have emptied our savings and borrowed from relatives, but the estimate of $1,500 is more than we can find. While we wait, Milon struggles with daily life and can't work a full shift. His family has taken turns caring for him, and I've cut my own work hours to be there. Rehabilitation is expected to take about 3 weeks. During that time Milon won't be able to work a full shift, so the costs keep growing. The money goes straight to the treatment bills, and I'll share the invoices as they're paid so you can see exactly what your gift did. Where the $900 goes: • Surgeon and anesthesia fees: $470 • Hospital stay (4 nights): $240 • Pre-operative tests and imaging: $30 • Post-operative medication: $35 • Physiotherapy sessions: $95 • Travel and lodging for the family: $30 Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.
