The Maple health centre yard needs a skate park - Alexandra's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Salem are raising $3,400 for a skate park at the Maple health centre yard.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 25 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Maple health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $3,400.
It will serve about 286 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $3,400 goes:
• Materials: $2,150
• Permits and inspections: $380
• Safety equipment and signage: $560
• Tools hire and delivery: $310
