The Lotus vacant lot needs a youth football pitch - Manuel's neighborhood project

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a youth football pitch. This year a group of 26 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 514 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $600 goes: • Materials: $420 • Permits and inspections: $70 • Safety equipment and signage: $40 • Tools hire and delivery: $70 Glad we found this place. - Manuel
