The Lotus vacant lot needs a skate park - Jamal's neighborhood project

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a skate park. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $250. It will serve about 432 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $250 goes: • Materials: $200 • Permits and inspections: $40 • Safety equipment and signage: $10 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
