For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $600. It will serve about 198 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $600 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $250 • Tools hire and delivery: $140 • Permits and inspections: $210 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.
