For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus health centre yard, but no funding. We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300. It will serve about 344 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $300 goes: • Materials: $165 • Permits and inspections: $45 • Safety equipment and signage: $30 • Tools hire and delivery: $60 Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

  • Shared this with my family. We lost years of savings to something like this so I get it. Greetings from Pune

Good luck, Ratul. Hope this works out for you. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day.

        • Shared it with a few friends. Wish I lived closer to Los Angeles so I could bring a meal. Thinking of Mumbai.
