The Liberty vacant lot needs a community garden - Min-ji's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Seoul are raising $2,450 for a community garden at the Liberty vacant lot.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $2,450.
It will serve about 594 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,450 goes:
• Materials: $1,600
• Permits and inspections: $90
• Safety equipment and signage: $340
• Tools hire and delivery: $420
