The Liberty health centre yard needs a rainwater harvesting system - Eva's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a rainwater harvesting system - we need $3,200 for materials.
Anywhere in the world808 views
For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 12 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $3,200.
It will serve about 261 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in June and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,200 goes:
• Materials: $2,450
• Permits and inspections: $280
• Safety equipment and signage: $300
• Tools hire and delivery: $170
Glad we found this place.
