A community-led a repair café workshop at the Liberty community hall that will serve 475 neighbors.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Liberty community hall, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,550.
It will serve about 475 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,550 goes:
• Materials: $2,000
• Safety equipment and signage: $250
• Permits and inspections: $300
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

You're not alone, Lucy. Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I told my book club about it and three of them are giving too. Greetings from Durham
So sorry you're going through this. Looking forward to the next update. Greetings from Zaria
