The Jacaranda vacant lot needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Tunde's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Abuja are raising $100 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Jacaranda vacant lot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 21 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $125, and the remaining cost is $100.
It will serve about 392 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $100 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
• Permits and inspections: $25
• Safety equipment and signage: $35
Thanks for reading all this.
