The Jacaranda vacant lot needs a repair café workshop - Zoé's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Marseille are raising $3,000 for a repair café workshop at the Jacaranda vacant lot.
🇫🇷 France1,096 views
For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 29 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $3,000.
It will serve about 369 people, including local farmers and market traders. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $3,000 goes:
• Materials: $2,400
• Permits and inspections: $140
• Safety equipment and signage: $320
• Tools hire and delivery: $140
Ask me anything below before you decide. I'd rather you were sure.

Thinking of you, Zoé. Gave what I could, wish it was more. All the best.
Is there a list of costs somewhere? Just curious how it adds up for Zoé
Materials is $2,400 of it. Everything else is listed in the story and nothing outside that list comes out of this page. Good question.
Hope things get better soon, Zoé. Hope you get there. Love from Kano!
Thanks for sharing this. Everyone deserves a bit of help sometimes. Love from San Francisco.
Wishing you peace, Zoé. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. I hope November is when things finally get easier.
