The Jacaranda vacant lot needs a playground - Saad's neighborhood project
A community-led a playground at the Jacaranda vacant lot that will serve 281 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 20 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 281 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $250
• Permits and inspections: $20
• Safety equipment and signage: $25
• Tools hire and delivery: $5
