The Jacaranda vacant lot needs a playground - Dola's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Rajshahi are raising $300 for a playground at the Jacaranda vacant lot.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a playground. This year a group of 18 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated timber, and the remaining cost is $300.
It will serve about 200 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in January and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $300 goes:
• Materials: $165
• Permits and inspections: $15
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $80
I never thought I'd be the one asking, and I'm grateful for every bit of support.

Hang in there, Dola. It takes guts to ask. Well done. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. Greetings from Santos.
