The Jacaranda vacant lot needs a community fridge - Kunal's neighborhood project

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a community fridge. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda vacant lot, but no funding. We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $75, and the remaining cost is $550. It will serve about 369 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $550 goes: • Safety equipment and signage: $50 • Permits and inspections: $50 • Materials: $450 Thanks for being kind about this. - Kunal
