The Jacaranda health centre yard needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Luna's neighborhood project
A community-led a sensory garden for children with autism at the Jacaranda health centre yard that will serve 125 neighbors.

For five years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including the parish youth group, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $2,950.
It will serve about 125 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in November and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $2,950 goes:
• Materials: $2,600
• Tools hire and delivery: $190
• Safety equipment and signage: $160
