For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a rainwater harvesting system. This year a group of 9 volunteers, including a group of teenagers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda health centre yard, but no funding.
We have received donated tools, and the remaining cost is $1,150.
It will serve about 159 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in March and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $1,150 goes:
• Materials: $820
• Permits and inspections: $60
• Safety equipment and signage: $130
• Tools hire and delivery: $140
Please ask me anything in the questions section. I'll answer honestly and quickly.

Best of luck, Nalini. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double. God bless.
Hope the build day goes well, wish I lived closer. I hope March is when things finally get easier.
