For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a solar-powered water pump. This year a group of 16 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $2,750. It will serve about 526 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered. Where the $2,750 goes: • Permits and inspections: $340 • Tools hire and delivery: $290 • Materials: $2,120 Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.
