For five years the neighborhood has asked for a repair café workshop. This year a group of 28 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Jacaranda community hall, but no funding. We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $650. It will serve about 480 people, including school children and their families. We'll hold a build day in December and everyone is invited. We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos. All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance. Where the $650 goes: • Materials: $390 • Permits and inspections: $75 • Safety equipment and signage: $80 • Tools hire and delivery: $105 I'll pay this kindness forward the moment I'm able to.
