The Harmony vacant lot needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Edward's neighborhood project
We have the land, the volunteers and the plan for a sensory garden for children with autism - we need $250 for materials.
🇬🇭 Greater Accra, Ghana628 views
For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 13 volunteers, including the neighborhood football club, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated paint, and the remaining cost is $250.
It will serve about 145 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in October and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $250 goes:
• Materials: $135
• Safety equipment and signage: $75
• Tools hire and delivery: $40
With deep gratitude,
Edward
