The Harmony vacant lot needs a sensory garden for children with autism - Hazel's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Bacoor are raising $400 for a sensory garden for children with autism at the Harmony vacant lot.

For eight years the neighborhood has asked for a sensory garden for children with autism. This year a group of 22 volunteers, including local mothers, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Harmony vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated soil and plants, and the remaining cost is $400.
It will serve about 363 people, including young people who have nowhere safe to play. We'll hold a build day in September and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
All purchases will be made by two volunteers and logged publicly. Surplus funds will go to maintenance.
Where the $400 goes:
• Materials: $210
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Safety equipment and signage: $40
• Tools hire and delivery: $100

sending strength. Great idea, hope you get there. Thinking of Bacoor.
More neighborhoods should do this. Thinking of Bacoor.
Keep going, Hazel. Reading this made my day a bit heavier but I'm glad I did. My father had a similar thing happen so this one hit home
